At ACE we offer a range of standalone Functional Skills qualifications. 

These Level 1 and Level 2 courses will teach you to apply core skills to everyday work situations, which in turn will boost your employment potential and give you extra confidence in applying your Maths, English, Digital Skills & Employability Skills knowledge at work and at home.

Our focused sessions are delivered in small groups, ensuring personalised attention and an educational experience that is highly relevant to your specific trade.

Maths

Gain confidence in basic calculations, solving problems, using mental arithmetic and calculator skills, as well as finding practical mathematic solutions to everyday problems.

English

Improve your ability to speak and communicate at all levels. Read and absorb information and write a variety of real-life documents that reflect the modern working world.

Digital Skills

Work with and be confident using Digital skills in different applications, from internet searches and word processing and to databases.

Diploma

If you’re ready for the next step, a professional diploma will help you progress within the industry to supervisory and management roles. Our new range of qualifications for industry professionals includes:

Level 3 to 7

Level 3 in Occupational Work Supervision (Construction)

Level 4 in Construction Supervision (Construction)

Level 6 in Construction Site Management (Construction)

Level 7 in Construction Senior Management

Learners will also gain a relevant CSCS card on completion – Gold (L3 & 4) or Black (L6 & 7).

Fire door awareness courses

Whether you want to complement your core studies with ACE by enhancing your awareness of fire door installation best practices, or you are an external apprentice or employer searching for a standalone training programme that covers this all-important topic, this Fire Door Installation Awareness course is for you.

You will need to achieve this accreditation in order to cut and fit fire doors to current standards.

By the end of our Fire Door Installation Awareness course, you will understand:

  • The role that timber fire door assembles and door sets play in preventing the spread of fire as part of a broader passive fire protection system – and why they must be installed correctly
  • The legislation you will need to follow when installing fire door assembles and door sets
  • What you need to consider before, during and after the installation

This is a one-day course that can be delivered at our premises or remotely. The cost is £500 per learner.

Please note that this course is for Level 3 Carpentry students only. It is a prerequisite to ensure these students are gateway ready for their End Point Assessment.
