We offer a series of training and apprenticeship opportunities to school learners and school leavers who are keen to pursue a career in the construction industry.
Our team enjoys supporting local schools with their careers provision programmes when we are able. We can support with a whole range of events and activities from careers fairs and mock interviews to human libraries and soft skill development sessions.
From pre-apprenticeships and apprenticeships to diploma courses and school learner options, there’s a training pathway to suit every budding tradesperson at ACE. And because we provide roll on/roll off programmes and flexible start dates, your candidates can start training with us at any point in the year.
We run open mornings on numerous Saturdays throughout the year, so those who are potentially interested in a career in construction can come along and see what opportunities we can offer them. We can offer alternative schooling opportunities to some students who are in years 10 and 11 and studying on a reduced timetable.
School learners merge with our pre-apprentices and attend three days a week (Wednesday-Friday) studying carpentry or brickwork with us. They are treated exactly the same as pre-apprentices, so are able to leave site at breaks and are expected to follow the same rules we set for all our students.
Depending on how long they are with us, school learners have the option to either register to the Level 1 certificate or just practice basic construction skills. Unlike our other students, school learners do not attend Functional Skills programmes and are solely workshop based.

More than this, we also offer unrivalled support to local schools that are looking to place students onto construction-related courses and apprenticeships. We have a dedicated Enterprise Advisor onsite who is responsible for maintaining great relationships with education providers in the local area – and we are always happy to assist with careers provision in any way we can.
